The V-stitch is an open crochet stitch made by working a double crochet, chain one, and another double crochet all into the same stitch, forming a small V shape with light, airy drape.

How to crochet the V-Stitch

  1. 1Chain a multiple of 3 plus 2.
  2. 2Row 1: in the fourth chain from the hook work (1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc) to make the first V. Skip 2 chains, then work another V-stitch in the next chain. Repeat across, ending with 1 dc in the last chain.
  3. 3Row 2: chain 3 and turn. Work a V-stitch (dc, ch 1, dc) into the chain-1 space at the center of each V from the row below.
  4. 4End the row with 1 double crochet in the top of the turning chain.
  5. 5Repeat Row 2, always placing each new V into the chain-1 space of the V below.
