Crochet C2C Blanket Patterns

Corner to corner (C2C) crochet explained: how the diagonal build works, how to read a C2C graph, and where to find free C2C blanket patterns.

Corner to corner crochet, almost always written C2C, builds a blanket on the diagonal. You start in one corner with a single small block, increase a block each row to grow the triangle out to the full width, then decrease back down to the opposite corner. Each block is a tiny cluster of chains and double crochets.

C2C shines for picture blankets. Because the fabric is a grid of blocks, you can follow a pixel-style graph and change color block by block to crochet letters, shapes, and full images. That makes it the go-to method for name blankets, character blankets, and graphgan projects.

What you need

Yarn
Worsted weight (CYC 4), about 1,000 to 1,500 yards for a throw, more with multiple graph colors.
Skill
Easy to start, intermediate to graph. The block is simple; reading a color graph is the step up.

C2C Blanket projects to make

  1. 1Solid C2C throw. One color, pure diagonal. Teaches the increase and decrease rhythm.
  2. 2Two-color border C2C. A solid center with a contrast edge. Teaches switching colors at the turn.
  3. 3Name or letter blanket. Follow a simple block graph to spell a name. Teaches reading a C2C chart.
  4. 4Graphgan picture blanket. A full pixel image worked block by block. The advanced payoff of C2C.
